Day 7

Well I am still going strong.  No cheating unless you count one piece of broccoli that I stole off the kids dinner plates last-night. (I was starving and it was steamed and smelled so good)!  This mornings weight was 154.6!!! Down 6 lbs! I will take my measurements tonight and update them in a while!

I think the high amounts of protein are starting to make me a little cranky.  Or maybe it is just my super annoying husband who keeps putting all sorts of food infront of my face! Tonight he went out and bought pizza and cheese sticks! REALLY! Even after I had JUST finished the conversations with him about using the things we had in the cabinets and freezer! We have tons of food in the house and not only does he not use it but he goes out and buys something right in front of me that he knows would be hard to resist.  VERY frustrating! Ok, sorry back to my opinion of the diet! It has been mentally harder for me than physically.  I have been working out a little but not near as much as I should be. I was very sore after my Day 4 work out so I have to admit I haven't done anything else but I am hoping to get one in before bed tonight!

Day 2 comes to a close!

Evening weight tonight is 158 lbs! Glad to see at the end of the day my weight is still at 158!  Today went well, I took a quick nap after lunch and wasn't sure about the measurements of my snacks but I think I have it under control now.  I enjoyed the chicken I had a snack.  Tomorrow is my first eat day, I am nervous about choosing my meal and being out of the house for the first time since starting.  Starting this on a weekend was nice, tomorrow will be the real test! I promise my first move will be to go to work and remove the huge candy dish off my desk, and the sugar from my desk drawers!  Plus I will take a 10 oz cup and 8 rubber bands! Then each time I drink the cup full I can remove a rubber band and make sure that I am drinking all my water! I will let you know my lunch recipe tomorrow!

Day 2 (and a little more about Day 1)

Well it's Day 2 and I am having a great experience so far.

Let me finish up my Day 1 experience before I move on to Day 2.  Last night before bed I finished up all my water consumption! I will say my last 8 oz were tea but all other fluid during the day counted towards the 80 oz was water.  I really didn't have a hard time with the drinking piece, I can't honestly say if it is because I enjoy drinking water anyway or if my body was just needing it.  I made a hot bedtime tea for my final drink of the night.  I took the two flush pills drank the tea and headed off to bed.  The tea is caffine free but I was very surprised lastnight to still have sustainable engery at 11:00 PM.  I wasn't hyper my any means but when I first laid down to sleep I was wide awake.  I was worried I would not fall asleep but Erin and I sat up and talked for a while and watched the end of SNL.  Then I got sucked into the infomercial for a while but once I turned off the TV I was out like a light.  When I woke up this morning I felt VERY refreshed.  I sunk into bed and I am not sure I moved all night! I feel like I haven't slept that well in years.

I did get my measurements taken before bed.  They were:

Chest: 36 inches
Arms: 12.5 inches
Hips: 39 inches
Waist: 34 inches
Thigh: 25.5 inches

My evening weight for the night was 159.0 lbs!

This morning when I woke up on Day 2 I was ready to get started again.  I took my Xyng and drank 8 oz of water. Then about 45 min later I drank my first shake of the morning.  This time I decided to use Almond Milk to mix my shake with. OMGEEEE! It was amazing!  I added 1 tablespoon of PB2 to the shake this morning. It was so great I could have drank 5, but I didn't! :)  After my shake I started cooking my snack! Today I went with Chicken.  Being home this weekend has been a big help for the first days of the plan.  I think it would be the best option for more working adults.  The chicken I used was seasoned with a rub so I put it in the oven and baked it for about an hour and a half.  Then I cut off the skin and cut off what I thought was approx 4-6 oz.  Note: before I do this again I need to figure out what exactly 4-6 oz of chicken looks like ;) I used the "size of a deck of cards" rule and eyeballed it.  I assume I was close.  The chicken was very  moist and I really enjoyed this for my mid-morning snack.

I have drank about 20 oz of water this morning so far. Oh and I forgot to mention my morning weight was 158 lbs! Can't wait to see what my weight and measurements are tonight!

Still Day 1

Well I made it through the afternoon and my evening shake at this point.  I am doing well and haven't gone off the plan at all.  At 5:45 this evening I was up to 58 oz of water drank so just a little bit more to go but I will get it in before bed.

Erin (my husband) has been ZERO help so far and has actually only made this harder for me at this point.  The most frustrating part of this is his annoying comments about eating at my favorite restaurants and now making the entire house smell like homemade pizza!  He was supposed to do this with me and we have the stuff for him to start but since we both want to give it 100% he wasn't ready.  He has a work function that will require him to eat with co-workers in the next few days so we will see when he starts what I torture him with!

I should specify that the actual process is not too difficult and I call it torture when my husband is teasing me but it really it is the mental process that you have to focus on.

Today for lunch I added a tablespoon of Chocolate Powder to my shake, it was ok.  I am not a big chocolate person so for someone that really likes it they may feel different.  I am still mixing the shake with water and I am sure it would be even better if I would use milk but we only have 2% in the house and I don't want to buy more until we use that up.  I plan to buy Almond milk when I do buy more because I want to give it to the kids as well.

Anyways after my lunch snack I took the 2 accelerate pills and continued to drink my water throughout the afternoon.  About 3 o'clock I started to feel hungry so I munched on some coco roasted almonds.  They were great, but I probably didn't get in the 4-6 oz this snack time.  We were out of town in Wichita and I didn't have a way to keep anything else cool.

I have found that 2 hours is about my limit for starting to feel hungry.  I can go an extra 30 min if I drink some extra water but that is about it.  With the guidelines of the program it seems to work out just perfectly for me.  At no point today have I felt like I was starving.  I haven't felt weak, jittery, tired or anything else that you may assume you would feel.

The only thing I have left this evening is my two flush pills and a glass of warm tea.  I am looking forward to this since I have some bedtime tea I can make with my Kuerig!  So that is all for now! Oh and I still haven't gotten my original measurements but I plan to get them before the day is over!

Now off to keep my mind busy so I don't start to crave those wonderful smelling pizza's that are currently surrounding me!

Pictures Day 1

These are my Day 1 pictures! I went for the "no smile" first picture!  I figured I would be like all those other "Before and After" pictures when they have huge smiles at the end because they are so proud of their accomplishments! :)

Also, you will notice I am taking these myself because my husband isn't home at the moment!  Seeing these pictures make my unhappiness with my body very real. NOTE:  Before you make any comments on how, "we should always be happy with ourselves, or love whats on the inside not the outside" I want you to take pictures of yourself wearing only a bra and underwear, then post it on the internet and at that point and only that point will I listen and take your advice! ;)

Day 1 (of 8 day challenge)

Well I finally decided to start my 8 day challenge today. Erin and I were going to start it together but we are both very committed to being successful and we can't seem to find matching 8 days we can start on!  We both travel for work sometimes and want to find 8 full days we can each dedicate to the diet!

So far I am 3.5 hours in and feeling good! ;) I know real accomplishment, but bare with me I'm just trying to keep this all inclusive!

I actually decided at the last min today was going to be the day I started so I was slightly unprepared (as in I didn't have all my pages printed and organized in a binder as I plan to do) when I began this morning but hey I can't start out perfect or it just would not be normal to me! So long story short I woke up and took my xyng pill with approx 6 oz of water.  I then proceeded to soak in the tub .... that was for my own sanity! ;) Plus I needed to wait 30 min before my shake....well I think!  Once out I took the shot of Xyngular Super Fruit Global blend juice and then made my shake....I started off boring and just mixed my one scoop with 8 oz of water.  I used my handy dandy new mixing thingy (for lack a better name).  It worked great, as I knew it would!  I didn't have a problem with the flavor at all.

Next I headed out to Kale's basketball game!  We sat in the stands and I was worried I would start to get hungry, jittery or at least feel somewhat uncomfortable but you guess it....I didn't! I felt just like myself, plenty awake and ready to cheer on my favorite little 4 year old basketball player and the rest of his team.  When the game was over I was starting to get slightly hungry by this time it was about 2 hours after my original shake.

I had to run an errand but stopped by the house and grabbed myself about 5-8 almonds to hold myself over during my quick errand!  I know I don't want to starve or stuff myself at any point so this amount of almonds worked perfectly for me.  Once my errand was done and I was back home I decided it was the perfect time for my mid morning stack, it was about 10 at this point.  I got out a cheese stick, and cooked myself a turkey sausage.....turns out I only like the sausage on the grill or fried.....too bad I didn't cook this one that way but threw it in the microwave! UCK! So two bites in I decided to give up on the sausage and eat my cheese stick and some more almonds.  After I finished this snack I grabbed 16 oz of water but was still feeling a little hungry so I decided I had not eaten a large enough snack.  I grabbed another cheese stick (these are just under an ounce a piece) and this time I wrapped two sliced of deli meat around it.  I finished this and drank the rest of my water and that brings me to the current moment I am typing at!

I am planning to have another shake at about noon (even though the current page I am reading doesn't list having a shake for lunch I believe I should....going to have to do a little more investigating).  This afternoon my family and I are heading to Wichita to meet my brother-in-law Josh! He works at McConnell Airforce base so he was able to shop at the commissary and buy me the PB2 that everyone has been telling me is so awesome.  So although my lunch shake won't be peanut butter flavored my dinner one sure will be and I am very excited to try it out!

Oh and as far as taking pictures or getting the measurements that is the piece I didn't do prior to starting so I am off to do that piece right now.  I do know my starting weight was 160.4 lbs. Yikes! Can't wait to see what it is in 8 days!  I will upload pics and measurements on here as soon as I get them today, cause nothing like posting everything on the internet for millions to see....maybe it will keep me motivated to be successful on my weight-loss journey!  Oh and my other motivation is my upcoming trip for work.....Long Beach California in April! Whoooo Hoooo!
